HAVING ALREADY FOUND A COMMERCIAL PREMISES TO OPERATE IBIZAVIDA FROM, OUR TEAM ARE TRYING TO SECURE ECONOMICAL ACCOMMODATION TO LIVE IN, ON A YEAR-ROUND BASIS.

"Finding a suitable commercial premises in Ibiza was simple enough, but when it comes to private lettings the 'seasonal' game is causing a massive housing problem. Property owners are so hungry for premium rates during the high tourist season of April to October (peaking during July and August), that their properties often remain empty during the winter season, despite many serious settlers and contributors to the island desperately seeking somewhere to live on a year-round basis. Understandably, most tenants are unable to commit to a short-term rental agreement that forces them to vacate after just six or ten months of occupancy, only to face extortionate monthly rents and lack of availability during the summer influx of tourists during the high-season months.

 

Thanks to Air B&B projecting dollar signs into the eyes of all private and commercial property owners, this problem is of course, not exclusive to Ibiza. It is also ruining coastal towns around some of the best parts of the UK, especially Cornwall. And the same problem is no doubt effecting other beautiful places to live around the world.

IN AN ATTEMPT TO CONFRONT THE 'SEASONAL' RENTAL PROBLEM HEAD-ON WHILE ENCOURAGING PRODUCTIVE MIGRATIONS TO THE ISLAND, IBIZA-VIDA IS INVITING ALL PRIVATE PROPERTY OWNERS AND LETTING AGENTS IN IBIZA TO TAKE PART IN OUR 'FIND US A HOME' CHALLENGE, WHICH WILL CREATE INTERESTING MATERIAL FOR OUR TV SHOW.
